Counting Your Losers 

Void = No losers

Singleton suit = 1 loser (except a singleton ace = 0 losers)

Doubleton = 2 losers - except AK (0), Ax (1) or Kx (1) NB: Qx is 2 losers.

3-card or longer suit with no AK or Q = 3 losers

3-card or longer suit with one honour = 2 losers

3-card or longer suit with two honours = 1 losers

3-card or longer suit with three honour = 0 losers

(Jack is not counted as an honour)
